Butter dish by Noda Horo made from enamel with a cherry wood lid.
Enamelware is well suited to use around the kitchen. Its hard wearing, easy to clean and resistant to stains and smells from food. It can be stored in the fridge, exposed to heat and cleaned in the dishwasher (not the lid).
The larger version will fit a standard 250g block of butter while the smaller size will fit smaller portions often sold on the continent. If you prefer the look of the smaller one just slice your butter in half.
Founded over 80 years ago, Noda Horo has long been associated with enamelware and continues to produce timeless, functional products in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. Unlike some manufacturers, they look after the entire process from the making of the substrate metal to the enamel porcelain finish. In 2013 they won the Good Design award for Long Life design.
