Tawashi brushes are made of shuro, a natural fiber from a relative of the palm tree. Natural oils make it resistant to water and supple enough to make rope, sacks and brushes.
These brushes are ubiqitous in Japan and can be found in every household for use in kitchens, bathrooms or the garden. They are ideal for washing vegetables and delicate surfaces such as teflon, enamel, glass and cast iron.
