Aomori Hiba is a slow-growing, cypress tree whose wood is revered in Japan. It has been used in the construction of temples and important buildings throughout Japan for centuries. Hiba wood is naturally antiseptic, water-resistant, insect-repelling and has a calming aroma. The essential oil is extracted from waste lumber harvested from 250 year-old trees.
